How does music
affect us?
Music affects us in
many ways and on many levels — physically, mentally and emotionally.
For example if you think about the song that you danced to on your
first date with your husband, wife or partner a certain emotion and
memory will be triggered and you will relive the emotion and
experience. This is because all human beings are a collection of
memories and experiences.
Why is it beneficial
to play music?
Highly
beneficial. If you play the right sort of music you will condition
yourself to be much more receptive to your inner self. More
specifically this should be music around 60 beats per minute which
is instrumental rather than vocal.
It may be better to
avoid music with too many nature sounds as this is not always to
everyone’s liking, Music creates an atmosphere that encourages you
to relax and de-stress. In doing this you increase the body’s
natural healing mechanisms as well as increasing general well being.
In addition the
absence of stress increases memory, creativity and mental health.
Whenever I am writing music myself I always make sure that I am
totally relaxed.
